David gathers two soccer teams in his own living room almost every day. But most of the guests are barely able to kick a ball.

What do you think is the difference between a father's binder and a mother's binder? - The ladies are more hysterical, says Preben.

There is good support for the dad group in Vadsø this Wednesday. Ten adults with eleven children are gathered in the living room of just over 70 square metres. The numbers perhaps indicate a chaos of howls and screams, gulping and gulping.

But the most striking thing about David Kamau Johnsen's home is how calm and harmonious it is after all. No, should we try a group photo? No challenge is too big for this group.

Twin father David has the biggest house and the most kids, so it's easiest to gather at his house. (Especially because the twins Seva and Michael don't agree on when you should preferably sleep. They do it in shifts.) No one keeps an official record of father group records, but this one could easily be in the gold medal: At the most, there have been thirteen men each with their toddlers at the same time.

Eight to ten is quite common. They have managed to gather most of the fathers in Vadsø who are on leave until the summer. Niklas, Joar, Alina, Markus, Selma, Mikkel, Emil and Seva held still for several seconds for this group photo.

They start in the same kindergarten in August. (Two of the ten children were asleep when the photo was taken.) Seva has dad David to herself while her twin brother sleeps. - They are here several times a week, up to every day.

Typically for two to four hours after the children have taken their first morning nap, says David. At the volunteer center in the city, it is open to all parents of young children every Monday, but this group can hardly get enough of each other. - No, it's amazing what you get used.

It's sitting alone that makes you tired, says David. - I think many in that group of dads were terrified of being bored during the leave, reveals the roommate of one of them to NRK. And then there was no beer brewing, golf or other self-realisation, but full attention to the children and the community.

Sondre Solnørdal has Selma with him. He has quite rightly heard other fathers - preferably a little older than himself - tell of sad and lonely days in the papa binder. - They just said that they hated leave.

It was boring. Then I just think that they weren't in a group like this! - These children are ready for kindergarten.

They are socialized! Sondre and Selma are faithful participants in the dad group at brother-in-law/uncle David's house. As a father of twins, David has been given a lot of extra time off.

At the start, he was on leave at the same time as his partner Charlotte. Then they often met her friends in mummies. - It was nice, too.

But you get a little tired of the mother talk. It's good to be able to meet other friends. Guys, simply.

Because the conversation will be a little different. - With girls, a lot goes into breastfeeding, sleeping, sore nipples, everything that comes with being a new mother. - It only works in children's talk, so to speak.

And that is nice and pleasant. But it was only when I was on leave with friends that the conversation turned to other things, quite naturally straight away. There was talk of work, everything, gossip.

It's insanely good to have a boy band to be with! - We are boys of roughly the same age, with common interests. Many who drive and fish and are active out in nature, says Sondre.

The same age would mean around 30. And that is a young age for a dad, based on what Sondre is used to when he moves in. - None of my closest friends in the south have children. So it was a shock for them, a very shock, when I was going to get her here.

They didn't realize it was possible, says Sondre. - Having children before you are 30 is almost unheard of.
