United States President Donald Trump said LeBron James might be "a racist" when asked if the basketball star is the greatest ever. James, 41, announced Friday he will continue his career with the Philadelphia 76ers. In a White House news conference, Trump explained why he considers Michael Jordan superior, calling Jordan a friend and a "really good guy.

Trump added, "I think LeBron is, maybe he's a racist, but maybe he doesn't like Trump. I only like people that like me, so I would say Michael Jordan all the way. James, a frequent Trump critic, has endorsed Democratic opponents and once called Trump "a bum" in 2017 over a White House invitation dispute.

He has won four NBA titles (Miami Heat twice, Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers), four MVP awards, and is the NBA's all-time leader in points and games played. James, who has not responded to Trump's comment, expressed confidence he can help the 76ers win a championship, joining All-Stars Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Jaylen Brown.
