Over 220 thousand evacuated due to the fires between France and Spain

After the addition of over 60,000 evacuated in the Bordeaux region (see 'Fires in France, four evacuated... of 03.29 ff.) Over 200,000 people in total have so far been evacuated in south-west France and central Spain, where vast and uncontrollable forest fires are raging. The number grew as more than 60,000 people were evacuated overnight in France's Atlantic region of Bordeaux. The fires pushed Madrid to declare a national state of emergency and the French authorities to order the total evacuation, by land and sea, of various areas.

In the south-west of France, a "village by village" evacuation of the Cap Ferret peninsula has been ordered, write international media, including the BBC and the Guardian. Over 200,000 people in total have so far been evacuated in southwestern France and central Spain, where large and uncontrollable forest fires are raging.
