Kocaelispor Signs Croatian Defender Matej Maglica on 2+1-Year Deal in Türkiye

Kocaelispor has signed Croatian defender Matej Maglica on a 2+1-year deal, the Super Lig club announced on Monday. The 27-year-old center-back joins from German Bundesliga side SV Darmstadt 98. Kocaelispor, which has limited transfer moves remaining, completed the signing after reaching an agreement with Darmstadt, which is registered with the German Football Federation. The club's statement said: An agreement has been reached with SV Darmstadt 98, registered with the German Football Federation, regarding the final transfer of player Matej Maglica to our club, and a 2+1-year contract has been signed with the player.

The green-and-black club, which plays its first home match of the season this evening at 21:30 against Amed SF, has been balancing match preparations with transfer work. After announcing two names during the week and finalizing a deal with one of them, the club from Kocaeli confirmed the agreement with Maglica today. Maglica, who holds Croatian nationality, most recently played for Darmstadt in the Bundesliga.
