It's Also the 10Th Anniversary of Founding Kojipro

Hideo Kojima, the director behind the Death Stranding and Metal Gear Solid series, has no plans to retire after recently celebrating his 63rd birthday. In a post on X, he shared his thoughts on his career and reaffirmed his commitment to making games. "I've turned 63. As the years pile on, the things I 'must do' and the things I 'want to do' just keep multiplying.
At the same time, the 'time I have available' keeps shrinking. I need to constantly scrutinize how I spend my time and how I live my life (my way of being), Kojima wrote. "That said, once I've shouldered a burden, I can't just leave it behind.
This year marks the 40th anniversary since I first started making games. It's also the 10th anniversary of founding Kojipro. From late October through the end of the year, we're planning to hold the 'Kojipro Exhibition, at the Azabudai Hills Gallery.
Even the entrance Ludens has been updated to the '10th Anniversary Ludens' version. "Amid all sorts of opportunities and offers coming my way, I want to keep pouring my energy into game creation going forward. Looking forward to your continued support," he added.
Kojima, who has been making games for roughly four decades, joins a generation of veteran developers reflecting on their legacies, following Deus Ex lead Warren Spector's retirement announcement last week. While Kojima has previously mused about creating films and exploring other mediums, he appears focused on games for now. Kojima Productions is currently working on several projects, including the experimental horror game OD and the stealth action title Physint.
The studio is also planning a 'Kojipro Exhibition' at the Azabudai Hills Gallery from late October through the end of the year, featuring an updated '10th Anniversary Ludens' statue at the office entrance. Fans need not worry about his absence any time soon. Kojima celebrated his birthday with a cake and a look toward many more years of game development. Kojima's 63rd birthday marks 40 years since he first started making games and 10 years since founding Kojima Productions.
