Nigeria's Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Has Launched an Online System That Lets Candidates Applying for the 2026 Unified Tertiary

The service initially covers results issued by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and is designed to reduce candidates' reliance on CBT centres, especially during periods of high demand. JAMB said the system will electronically verify results directly with examination bodies before uploading them to candidates' profiles. In a statement on Monday, the Board's Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, said the initiative would make the process easier, faster and safer while reducing errors linked to manual uploads.

JAMB added that the system would help prevent the submission of fraudulent or unverified results, misplaced certificates, and mistakes in entering subjects and grades. To verify a result, candidates must first obtain a Result Verification Code through the designated portal. The steps include providing their National Identification Number (NIN), selecting the number of O'Level sittings, choosing the relevant examination body or bodies, supplying an email address and GSM number, making payment through the available gateway, and entering their examination number, series and year.

After successful verification, JAMB issues a Verification Code. Candidates must then send "VERIFY" followed by the code to 55019 or 66019, and will receive a notification confirming the verification and submission of the result. For uploading, candidates with two O'Level sittings should log into their JAMB e-Facility dashboard and select "2026 UTME O'Level Upload.

They enter their Verification Code, view their two verified results, and select the required subjects and grades. Candidates must choose a minimum of five and a maximum of nine subjects, with no subject selected more than once, then click "Apply the O'Level Results. A notification confirms the upload. JAMB said the service will be especially useful when CBT centres face long queues, heavy patronage or network difficulties, and is part of its digital transformation efforts to let candidates complete admission-related processes remotely.
