Nurse Praised for Performing CPR on Man Who Collapsed at Her Grandmother's Funeral
Inje University Haeundae Paik Hospital said on the 24th that nurse Joo Seol-hee administered emergency treatment to a man identified only as Mr. K, who lost consciousness and collapsed at a funeral hall in Yeosu, South Jeolla Province, on July 20. The hospital learned of the incident through a commendation letter it recently received.
After determining CPR was needed, she asked someone to call 119 and began emergency treatment while still wearing her mourning clothes. Joo was at the same funeral hall for her grandmother's funeral. The letter of commendation stated, We were moved by her actions, as she prioritized the patient's life over her own situation and performed emergency treatment without hesitation, even amid the sorrow of holding her own family's funeral.
