South Korea will see scorching heat on Monday, with daytime highs reaching up to 36 degrees Celsius, followed by afternoon showers accompanied by gusty winds and thunder and lightning across many parts of the country. The Korea Meteorological Administration forecast daytime highs of 30-36 degrees Celsius, higher than the seasonal average of 27-30 degrees. Heat advisories are in effect across most regions, with perceived temperatures climbing to around 33 degrees, and up to 35 degrees in parts of southern Gyeonggi and southern regions. Regional daytime highs are expected to be 33 degrees in Seoul, 31 in Incheon, 33 in Chuncheon, 34 in Gangneung, 34 in Daejeon, 35 in Daegu, 35 in Jeonju, 35 in Gwangju, 35 in Busan, and 32 in Jeju.
