The blaze, which was largely brought under control, continues to be battled by emergency crews. The fire erupted for reasons yet to be determined at a plaza on Laleş Boulevard in the Talaytepe neighborhood. Upon reports from nearby residents, numerous fire trucks, police units, and 112 Emergency Health teams were dispatched to the scene.
As the fire quickly grew, firefighting efforts were supported by TOMA water cannons. Governor Murat Zorluoğlu, Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Serra Bucak Küçük, and Provincial Police Chief Nurettin Gökduman arrived at the area to receive briefings from officials. Governor Zorluoğlu stated that the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
"A total of 5 of our citizens were affected by the fire. Three are firefighters, and two were people present in the building at the time," he said. Zorluoğlu noted that firefighting operations are ongoing, adding, "The fire has been largely brought under control.
The fire on the roof is still continuing. At the same time, all floors and apartments inside the building have been checked by our fire department several times. This is a building used as offices.

Zorluoğlu said that once the roof fire is extinguished, cooling operations will begin. He added that teams arrived at the scene in a timely manner, details will be evaluated later, and the cause of the fire will be shared with the public once determined. The fire in the plaza in Diyarbakır's central Kayapınar district affected five people, including three firefighters, with smoke inhalation. The fire, largely under control, continues to be intervened by crews.
