Sudan Sovereign Council Advisor Eltayeb said the possibility of Sudan's division is unacceptable

  • Eltayeb pointed out that El Ubeyd is 3 times the size of Fashir and stated that the only obstacle preventing the repetition of the massacre in Fashir was the Sudanese government forces pushing back the HDK.

Political and Foreign Affairs Advisor to the President of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Dr. Amgad Fareid Eltayeb stated that the possibility of division of Sudan is in no way acceptable. Eltayeb evaluated the latest developments in Sudan to the AA correspondent. Stating that El Ubeyd, the center of the Northern Kurdufan state, is currently at the center of everything happening in Sudan, Eltayeb said that the Rapid Support Forces (HDK) are trying to repeat the massacres in the central city of Fashir in North Darfur in October 2025.

Eltayeb pointed out that El Ubeyd is 3 times the size of Fashir and stated that the only obstacle preventing the repetition of the massacre in Fashir was the Sudanese government forces pushing back the HDK. Emphasizing that the Fashir example shows what is really happening for those who describe what is happening in Sudan as "a civil war or a war between equal parties or political parties", Eltayeb said, "What is happening in Sudan is an attack by fascist militias on the Sudanese state, government, people and sovereignty. However, the Sudanese people are resilient, they are responding. he said.

We cannot surrender our people to HDK's political ambitions. "At the same time, we cannot accept division as in the Libya scenario, he said. Eltayeb stated that some regional countries are insistent on "freezing" the current situation on the field, and emphasized that this would legitimize the HDK's occupation of certain civilian areas, and that it is unacceptable for the Sudanese government and people.

Pointing out that the Sudanese government has a responsibility to ensure the safety and security of its citizens, Eltayeb said, "We cannot accept offers that would legitimize HDK's occupation of these civilian areas, because this would mean leaving the Sudanese people captive to HDK. he said. For this reason, Eltayeb stated that they could accept a ceasefire or peace offer that would allow HDK to completely withdraw from the lands where the civilian population is under its control, and underlined that the possibility of division of Sudan is not an acceptable situation in any way. Pointing out that Türkiye is one of the very few countries that adopts a principled attitude towards the situation in Sudan, Eltayeb said that it is clear that Türkiye supports the legitimate side in the country, and that this war started with a violent attack on legitimacy.

Eltayeb stated that the Turkish government acted principledly and said, "They are aware that the domestic political situation is an issue that the Sudanese people must decide. he said. Recalling that the Sudanese army liberated Khartoum from the hands of HDK, Eltayeb said that according to the latest data of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), 2.5 million people returned to Khartoum after the reconstruction of the city.

Describing the biggest problem in humanitarian aid as "availability, not access", Eltayeb pointed out that the humanitarian aid plan created by the United Nations in 2025 has less than 50 percent of the funding, and in 2024 it is less than 30 percent. Noting that most of the humanitarian aid is rnational community needs to reconsider, design and change its humanitarian approach towards what is happening in Sudan. he said."
