🇲🇦 MoroccoSC Cambuur in the Third Round of the Eredivisie, a Match Briefly Halted in the First Half Due to Fireworks Set Off by the Away in Morocco

Referee Danny Makkelie stopped the game after twelve minutes when Feyenoord supporters lit a large amount of fireworks, with burning flares landing on the pitch and in a stand with Cambuur fans. Cambuur announced after the match that five supporters were injured by the fireworks, suffering burns, hearing damage, and eye injuries. Feyenoord goalkeeper Tjark Ernst was unharmed when the fireworks fell close to him on the ground.
The match resumed after a break of more than twenty minutes. The home side had started the game well but were no match for Feyenoord after the restart. In the 17th minute, the visitors took the lead through Gjivai Zechiël.
After Cambuur keeper Thijs Jansen stayed down following a duel with Ayase Ueda, Zechiël found the empty net. The VAR reviewed it but saw no reason to disallow the 0-1. Feyenoord captain Luciano Valente doubled the score shortly after. He received the ball from Gaoussou Diarra and shot home on the turn (0-2).
A mistake by keeper Jansen. After Jansen had made a good save on a shot from Givairo Read, the keeper erred in the 42nd minute, turning a cross from Mika Mármol into his own net with his hand. In first-half stoppage time it became 0-4. Feyenoord were awarded a penalty after a slight foul on Read, and Ueda converted the chance.
After the break, Feyenoord eased off and the Frisians could somewhat restore their pride. After a quick counter, Rafik El Arguioui tapped in from close range on a pass from Nicolas Binder, and El Arguioui even made it 2-4 with a placed shot. Feyenoord's win was never in danger despite the dip, and Zechiël made it 2-5 on a pass from substitute Jordan Lotomba.
