🇺🇸 United StatesGolf Brands Pull Ad After Backlash Over Violence Against Woman

Good Good Golf and Callaway have removed a promotional video for a Callaway driver after it sparked backlash for depicting violence against a woman. The YouTube content creator, set to serve as title sponsor for an upcoming PGA Tour tournament this fall, published and then deleted the ad showing a man pushing a woman to the ground as she reached for the club. "We posted a video to our channels that ultimately depicted actions that are not aligned with our values as a brand, Good Good said in a statement.
"We have since taken that content down. And sincerely apologize. Good Good has always stood for making the game of golf more inclusive to all, and we will continue to ensure that is our mission moving forward.
Both companies erased the late Friday following the outcry, although clips continued to circulate on social media after official accounts removed the post. Established as a YouTube channel in 2020, Good Good Golf has become one of the sport's largest digital content creators, featuring eight men and four women in golf matches and skill challenges. The company also produces made-for-TV programming, apparel, and merchandise.
Callaway Golf entered a partnership with Good Good in 2023. "We are disappointed by the content that was posted, and are appreciative of Good Good for addressing this, Callaway said. "We look forward to working together to ensure a more inclusive space in golf. The PGA Tour has increasingly embraced digital content creators.
Good Good became title sponsor of the Good Good Championship, an event in the FedEx Cup Fall schedule set for Nov. 12-15 in Austin, Texas. The tour said: The PGA Tour believes in golf's ability to bring people together and create a welcoming environment for all. We do not condone violence in any form, and the since-deleted video does not reflect our values or commitment to inclusivity and respect.
