Izmir, Turkey, Had Been Addicted to Anesthetic Drugs for Years in Türkiye

Erhan Çelik, a news presenter, submitted names and evidence to prosecutors, claiming certain individuals linic. Çelik alleged that Gültekin became addicted to narcotic drugs used in anesthesia before their marriage, that he learned of the situation in 2023, and that treatment attempts were unsuccessful. He stated he filed for divorce in 2025 because of this.

He also claimed that in footage that appeared to show violence, he was actually trying to record the drugs and syringes in Gültekin's bag. Çelik said Gültekin had been using the substances for the past three years and provided prosecutors with the names of people he alleged s referred to the Forensic Medicine Institute two months ago but did not undergo testing. The definitive cause of death is expected to be determined following forensic examinations. The investigation into her death is ongoing.
