Long-range missiles have been raining down on the capital, Kyiv, leading to higher civilian casualties in Ukraine than in the early months of the invasion, according to the United Nations. The long-range missiles travel so fast that it is nearly impossible for civilians to find shelter from them. Dozens have been killed in attacks in recent days, and on Saturday, Russian forces fired missiles at Kyiv while German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul was meeting there with President Volodymyr Zelensky. French President Emmanuel Macron wrote on X that it was urgent to provide Ukrainians with all the equipment needed to hold back Russian attacks.
