🇦🇷 ArgentinaArgentina Opens Legislative Agenda to Opposition Bills for First Time Under Milei

The Argentine government is shifting its parliamentary strategy, opening its legislative agenda to bills from other political blocs for the first time since President Javier Milei took office. The move comes as allied lawmakers harden their stance and demand concessions in exchange for their votes. La Libertad Avanza, the ruling party, will now advance projects from other benches alongside those sent by the Executive, though it is choosing initiatives without fiscal impact.
The gesture marks a tactical turn for the officialdom, which has historically been forced to negotiate due to its minority status in Congress. Previously, concessions were limited to modifications within bills sent from Casa Rosada, but the anticipated electoral climate and the dismantling of Minister Federico Sturzenegger's Property Inviolability project — which entered Congress with six chapters and was sanctioned with only three — prompted a change of course. Lawmakers aligned with Peronist or provincial governors who had been playing in tandem with Milei are now demanding a "law for law" approach.
