Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said Russian air defenses destroyed 180 of 620 drones launched toward the Moscow region overnight, as Ukraine mounted one of its largest drone attacks on Russian territory. From yesterday evening until 05:00 today, 620 drones flew toward the Moscow region. Of these, 180 were destroyed over the region, Sobyanin wrote on social media, adding that emergency services were working at sites where drone debris fell.

Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov said the area came under intense drone attack overnight, with civilian infrastructure damaged in several locations and three people injured. In the Belgorod region, acting Governor Aleksandr Shuvayev reported that 20 people were wounded in Ukrainian army strikes on the area. Russia's Defense Ministry said air defense systems shot down 791 Ukrainian drones overnight over various regions, including Moscow, the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.

The ministry did not specify how many drones were launched in total. The attacks mark a significant escalation in the drone war, with Ukraine targeting Russian border regions and the capital area in recent weeks.
