🇹🇷 TürkiyeUnder the Proposed Reforms, Alimony Payments Would No Longer Be Open-ended in Türkiye
Turkey is preparing a new judicial reform package that could replace indefinite alimony with a system based on marriage duration and the financial situations of both parties. The 13th Judicial Package is expected to be submitted to the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) in the near future, with significant changes also planned for divorce, child custody, and property division processes. Under the proposed reforms, alimony payments would no longer be open-ended. Instead, the duration and amount would be determined by how long the marriage lasted and the economic circumstances of the spouses.
