Minister Kacır said, "Our scientists traveled 4 thousand nautical miles for 22 days and collected data at 90 different stations within the scope of the 6th Arctic Science Expedition. Glaciers are like the memory of the earth; Regions where our scientists have the opportunity to obtain data from thousands of years ago.

"Our goal now is to build a science base at the South Pole in Antarctica. Hopefully, we have completed all our preparations to reach this goal quickly, he said. Minister Kacır emphasized that the Arctic region has the potential to change global balances not only scientifically, but also geopolitically and economically.

Minister Kacır said, "This is an area where approximately 30 percent of the world's hydrocarbon reserves and nearly 15 percent of its oil reserves are located. The melting of glaciers in this region will probably bring about an acceleration of energy-oriented efforts in the coming decades. 12 different critical projects are being carried out in the giant organization carried out under the auspices of the Presidency and conducted by TÜBİTAK Polar Research Institute. A total of 12 scientists, 3 of whom are foreigners, work in harsh polar conditions.
