I’ve found that so much of it is heavy before you’ve even put any of your things in them, and also they just don’t look very nice. I’m a girly girl and I like things to serve a practical purpose but also look pleasing to the eye. That is why I was immediately drawn to Online Home Shop 's hot pink bow-print storage range, which manages to make something as mundane as putting away clothes, bedding and household clutter feel much more fun.
The design and colour is perfect for me, but there’s other designs available too so you can choose something that fits within your aesthetic. Even better, the prices are extremely affordable, and right now many items are in the sale too. So, ordered several different items for multiple purposes and excitedly awaited my parcel.
The first thing I used is the Bow Print Large Collapsible Storage Box with Lid, currently £6 reduced from £12, because it is the sort of storage that finally helped me to tackle those awkward things that never seem to have a proper home. For me, it was various laundry items including my clothes pegs and my (dismantled) clothes drying pod that have sat out in my conservatory for several years. At 64 x 37 x 38cm, it will also comfortably fit clothing, bedding, blankets, toys, seasonal decorations and household essentials, and the fitted lid helps protect what's inside from dust.
It folded out in moments, but felt sturdy and secure and can also fold down again if not needed (though I can’t imagine this). I particularly like the fact that it doesn't look like traditional utilitarian storage. The hot pink finish and bow print give it a decorative feel, so it sits out in my conservatory and looks like stylish décor choice.
I love it, and it has put an end to a problem which has irritated me for years. For the space underneath the bed, I turned to the OHS 2 Pack Bow Print 90.L Underbed Storage Bags, currently £5 rather than £9. These long bags are designed with a clear viewing panel, so you can see what is inside without having to pull everything out and open it. There is also a slightly different two-pack of 90.3L underbed clothes storage bags, which are deeper and shorter, and currently £4.50 instead of £8.50. These have a flexible design that can slide into lower spaces, along with reinforced handles, a full-length zip and a transparent side panel.
I have put a variety of items in mine including clothes, spare bedding, beauty products. I have a double-sized ottoman bed, and I have found I have been able to fit four of each type of bag under their comfortably. They are very spacious, but thanks to the soft material they aren’t rigid, have plenty of give and can fit into different sizes spaces with ease.
They make everything look and feel much more organised. Rather than sifting through piles of things every time I go under my bed for something, I now know exactly what’s in each bag thanks to the windows and can locate what I want much quicker. Plus, everything else stays neat and tidy.
The biggest surprise for me is probably the Bow Print Reusable Extra Large Storage Bag, which is down from £7.50 to £3.50. At 74 x 33 x 36cm, it has plenty of room various things. I have used mine to store my (4ft) Christmas tree, because I’m fed up of trying to squeeze it back into its box every January, and now I know I won’t dread that job anymore.
