🇹🇷 TürkiyeAI Must Play a Decisive Role in the Creative Process in Türkiye

Turkey is set to host its first high-profile artificial intelligence cinema event, as production company Ay Yapım and its subsidiary AI Yapım bring the World AI Film Festival (WAIFF) to the country. The WAIFF Turkey Chapter 2026 will open with a grand award ceremony in Istanbul on November 4, 2026, aiming to provide a platform for local directors and producers to showcase their projects globally. The organization stands out as an international structure that aims to make AI-supported film production visible on a global scale.
Following countries such as Japan, South Korea, China, and Brazil, the platform is growing with its Turkish edition, aiming to connect the potential of local creators with industry professionals worldwide. As part of the festival, the five most successful Turkish productions will earn the right to directly participate in the World AI Film Festival Cannes 2027 selection, scheduled for April 6-7, 2027. This will allow local directors and producers to display their projects on a global stage. Applicants must submit their projects by October 1, 2026, at 23:59. Only citizens of the Republic of Turkey and content producers legally residing in the country can participate in the competition.
The main criteria sought within the scope of the competition are listed as follows: Productions that are either entirely AI-generated or hybrid works combining live-action with technology will be accepted.
