The Russian embassy in Stockholm has been receiving a steady stream of inquiries from Swedish citizens interested in moving to Russia under the country's "traditional values" visa scheme, according to Russian Ambassador Sergey Belyaev. Belyaev told Sputnik that Swedes contact the embassy almost weekly about the possibility of relocating to Russia under the program. The scheme is part of a broader initiative announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who vowed full support for people who share traditional values and face pressure in their own countries. Putin said such individuals would be granted full support if they decide to relocate, work, and raise children in Russia.
