39 Suspects Detained in Simultaneous Raids Across Five Provinces Over Organized Crime Charges in Türkiye

The suspects were arrested by a criminal court of peace after being referred to the courthouse, the Soma Chief Public Prosecutor's Office said. The investigation covers charges including forming, managing, and being a member of an organization for the purpose of committing crimes, qualified fraud, robbery, deprivation of liberty, intentional injury, and threats. Police teams from the Provincial Security Directorate's Public Order and Intelligence branches, along with district police units, carried out the simultaneous raids.

Searches of the addresses yielded an unlicensed handgun, five cartridges, five shotgun shells, 40,000 Turkish liras believed to be crime proceeds, a laptop, a tablet, a computer case, and numerous mobile phones. The investigation revealed that large sums of money were sent to and withdrawn from accounts belonging to complainants C.E.A., M.S., and B.H., which were used by others.
