Man arrested for fatal shooting incident near Four Days Marches

The police arrested an 18-year-old man from Rotterdam last night for a fatal shooting incident in Nijmegen. Just outside the area where the Four Days Marches were taking place, another 18-year-old man from Rotterdam was shot last night around 10 p.m. He died in hospital. The arrested man is suspected of involvement, the police report.
His role is under investigation. Due to the Nijmegen Four Days Marches and the Four Days Marches, it was busy in the city at the time of the shooting. The police said they did not immediately see a link between the shooting and the event, but could not rule it out.
Area still cordoned off. The shooting took place on the Graafseweg. The area remains cordoned off for forensic investigation.
The police are looking into whether there are more people involved and are still looking for witnesses. People who have seen something are asked to report.
