New night-time US attacks target Iran
The US military has launched another wave of strikes against Iranian military targets, marking the eleventh consecutive night of operations.
- Centcom says this is the 11th consecutive night of attacks against Iran.
- The strikes aim to weaken Iran's threat to commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
US Central Command (Centcom) announced it carried out a fresh round of attacks on military sites overnight, targeting capabilities Tehran uses to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. In a post on social media platform X, Centcom said the strikes were designed to further degrade Iran's ability to disrupt maritime traffic in the strategic waterway. The command later confirmed that the night's operations had been completed. The latest strikes come amid heightened tensions in the region, with the US repeatedly stating its commitment to protecting freedom of navigation.
