Governor Attilio Fontana said he asked Civil Protection Minister Nello Musumeci to recognize the state of emergency for the damage caused by the wave of bad weather that has hit various parts of Lombardy. Fontana has tasked regional councilors Gianluca Comazzi (Territory) and Romano La Russa (Civil Protection) with preparing the documentation to formalize the request. "I thank Minister Musumeci, the president added, "who has assured me that he will submit Lombardy's request to the Council of Ministers as soon as possible.
