Iran Opened the 2026 AVC Women's Asian Continental Championship With a 3-1 Victory Over Chinese Taipei in Their Pool a Opener in Taiwan

Elaheh Poorsaleh led Iran with 25 points, while Yu-Chun Tsai of Chinese Taipei scored 14 points. Team Melli are scheduled to face China and Iran on Aug. 24 and 25, respectively, in Pool A. The 2026 AVC Women's Volleyball Continental Championship is the 23rd staging of the biennial tournament organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with the China Volleyball Association (CVA).

The event runs from Aug. 21 to 30 at the Tianjin Olympic Center Gymnasium. The top eight teams after the preliminary round advance to the quarterfinals, scheduled for Aug.

27-28. The semifinals are set for Aug. 29, with the bronze-medal match and final on Aug. 30. Iran's next match is against China on Aug.
