Four flights were forced to delay their landings at Bergen's Flesland airport on Tuesday night after a possible drone sighting, Norwegian authorities said. A passenger told VG that the pilot informed them they could not land in Bergen because a drone had been observed at the airport. "It was reported a possible drone observation, and the police were notified, said Helene W. Jensen, press officer at Avinor, to VG.
According to Avinor, four flights had to wait to land in Bergen. The airport operator has not confirmed that a drone was actually observed. The four flights have now been cleared to land, Avinor said.
The police said they received a report from the control tower at Flesland at 11:18 PM that a drone had been spotted. "We have a police unit in the area that is now searching for the drone, said operations leader Ole Ronny Olsen.
