🇰🇷 South KoreaYongin Launches Feasibility Studies for 3 Urban Rail Projects to Boost Everline Network in South Korea

Yongin, South Korea, has launched preliminary feasibility studies for three urban railway projects, including the new Dongbaek–Sinbong Line, in a bid to transform the long-underused Yongin EverLine into a key east-west rail network. The city announced the move on the 20th, saying the studies will run for the next year to bolster the projects' viability ahead of formal government reviews. Sinbong Line would run 14.7 kilometers from Dongbaek Station on the Yongin EverLine, passing through Giheung Station — a transfer point for GTX-A and the Suin–Bundang Line — and Seongbok Station on the Shinbundang Line, ending in Sinbong-dong, Suji-gu.
The route cuts through Yongin Platform City and is expected to create significant synergy with the planned Gyeonggi Southern Metropolitan Railway. The Yongin EverLine Gwanggyo extension would add 6.8 kilometers from Giheung Station through Heungdeok District to Gwanggyo Jungang Station on the Shinbundang Line.
