Şanlıurfa, Was Attacked With Gunfire in an Incident Captured on a Cell Phone Camera, Leaving a Man and His 11-Year-old Daughter Lightly

The attack occurred late on August 16 near the Yücelen neighborhood, according to local authorities. According to the account, M.A.S. (40) was driving his vehicle with license plate 63 ADP 423 toward Siverek when an argument broke out with occupants of another vehicle over right-of-way. Following the dispute, gunfire was opened from the vehicle with plate 63 AGS 295 using a hunting rifle, wounding M.A.S. and his daughter İ.S.S. (11).
In a separate but related account, M.A.S. was reportedly returning home with his wife and children after visiting his sister in the Keskin rural neighborhood. Around 23:00, his vehicle was followed by three cars, which allegedly tried to block him at the Uzuncuk rural neighborhood exit. He continued driving and notified gendarmerie units.
About 8 kilometers from the Siverek town center, the pursuing vehicles opened fire, striking the car and its tires, forcing it to stop. M.A.S. was hit by a pistol bullet and his disabled daughter by shotgun pellets, both sustaining light injuries. The attackers allegedly tried to pull M.A.S.'s wife and children from the vehicle and seized his identity card at gunpoint.
They fled when villagers and passing drivers approached. M.A.S.'s wife recorded the incident on her phone, with footage showing a gunman holding a pistol and the screams of women and children inside the car. Gendarmerie operations led to the arrest of four suspects, who were later remanded in custody.
One suspect, K.C., remains under treatment at Siverek State Hospital for health issues while his detention process continues. The judicial investigation is ongoing.
