🇹🇷 TürkiyeKadooğlu Also Noted That the Sector's Share in Turkey's Overall Grain Exports Stood at 31.4%. in Türkiye

Grain, legume, oilseed and processed product exports from Turkey's Southeastern Anatolia region rose 7.4% year-on-year to $2.2 billion in the January-July period, according to the Southeastern Anatolia Exporters' Associations (GAİB). The sector accounted for 30.8% of the region's total exports and 31.4% of Turkey's overall grain exports during the seven-month period. More than 2.5 million tons of products were shipped, including approximately 736,000 tons of pasta, 467,000 tons of wheat flour and 280,000 tons of sunflower oil.
Sunflower oil was the top revenue generator, with export value climbing 26.4% to $461.5 million, while pasta exports rose 14.1% to $394.1 million. The Middle East remained the sector's largest market, with exports surpassing $900 million, while shipments to Africa grew 22.4% to $775.5 million. Celal Kadooğlu, a TİM board member and head of the GAİB Grain Union, said the sector closely monitors all processes from production to logistics to maintain international competitiveness and ensure food supply security in the nearby region.
He stressed the importance of an uninterrupted supply chain and sustainable exports, adding that policies to reduce the freight disadvantage stemming from the region's distance to ports and to increase the effectiveness of state support would boost competitiveness in target markets. Kadooğlu also noted that the sector's share in Turkey's overall grain exports stood at 31.4%.
