🇳🇴 Norway1.2 Million People and 200,000 Businesses Has Been Stolen in a Major Cyberattack in Latvia, the Country's Road Directorate in Norway

The attack occurred last week and allegedly led to the theft of first and last names, payment details, vehicle registration numbers, and addresses linked to vehicle service appointments. Latvia has a population of around 1.9 million. It is unclear who was behind the attack, but Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs said it cannot be ruled out that it was carried out from another country, according to the Latvian news agency Leta.
The prime minister has ordered an investigation and criticized the road directorate for not notifying authorities about the attack quickly enough. Officials warn the stolen information could be misused by fraudsters. On Monday, Digi reported that a Russian hacker group claims to have stolen data on 160,000 Norwegian car owners. The attack on Latvia's road directorate is one of the largest data breaches in the country's history, affecting a majority of its citizens.
