An Adana-based businessman who traveled to Ivory Coast for work has been missing since June 19, 2026, after his brother said he was kidnapped by gangs who seized his construction materials and put his vehicle up for sale on social media. Süleyman Kaplan, 52, a married father of four who trades in construction materials in Adana, went to Ivory Coast on May 5, 2026, for business. On June 19, he called his brother Danyal Kaplan, saying some people were threatening him and had seized his construction materials and vehicle.

No one has heard from Süleyman Kaplan since. Some people who contacted Danyal Kaplan said, "Your brother is in our hands, you can't get him back, but they did not demand a ransom. Danyal Kaplan traveled to Ivory Coast to find his brother, but his searches yielded no results.

During this time, he saw his brother's vehicle listed for sale on social media and contacted the police to block the sale. "Two months have passed, and there is no news from my brother. Security camera footage is unavailable.

We also notified the consulate, but nothing came of it. My brother's four children and his wife are devastated. We are worried about his health, Danyal Kaplan said.
