IETT Bus and Another Vehicle on the D-100 Highway in Türkiye

The chain-reaction accident occurred around 9:00 p.m. on the D-100 highway near Cumhuriyet neighborhood. According to reports, the car with license plate 34 PHJ 494, traveling toward Edirne, lost control for unknown reasons, first hitting an IETT bus that was dropping off passengers at a stop, then colliding with another vehicle. Upon notification from nearby residents, fire, health, and police teams were dispatched to the scene.

One person trapped inside the car was extracted by fire crews. Three people were taken to the hospital by ambulance after being determined injured in the chain-reaction crash. One of the injured is reported to be in life-threatening condition.

Traffic congestion formed in the Edirne direction due to the accident, but flow returned to normal after the vehicles were removed by tow trucks. The accident was reported at 00:05 on August 19, 2026.
