One Person Was Killed and Another Seriously Wounded in an Armed Clash Between Related Families in Southeastern Turkey on Friday Evening

The incident occurred in the rural Alıçlı neighborhood of Ömerli district in Mardin province. According to initial reports, an argument broke out between the families for reasons still unknown and escalated into a gunfight. İbrahim Kortak and Mehmet K. were hit by bullets fired from a handgun during the clash.

Health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene after the incident was reported. Kortak was pronounced dead at the scene, while Mehmet K. was taken by ambulance to Mardin Training and Research Hospital after receiving first aid. His condition was reported as critical. Kortak's body was moved to the hospital morgue for an autopsy.
