🇸🇪 SwedenContact Tracing Is Now Underway in Several Swedish Regions

Sweden's public health agency has linked 11 cases of measles to the Urkult festival, which took place from July 30 to August 1 in the Västernorrland county. The agency, Folkhälsomyndigheten, announced the connection in a press release, noting that a new infection case was confirmed as recently as today. According to the health authority, most of those infected are children under 18 who have not been vaccinated against measles.
Contact tracing is now underway in several Swedish regions. Measles is a highly contagious disease that causes fever, respiratory symptoms, and a rash. In some cases, it can lead to pneumonia and encephalitis, which can be fatal.
