Currency Exchange Shops in Baghdad Quoted Rates Ranging Between 1,545 and 1,535 Dinars Per Dollar

The US dollar exchange rate against the Iraqi dinar rose on Tuesday in Baghdad while declining in Erbil, the capital of Iraq's Kurdistan region. In Baghdad's Al-Kifah and Al-Harithia stock exchanges, the dollar rose slightly to 1,541.5 Iraqi dinars, up from 1,538.5 dinars on Tuesday morning, according to Shafaq News. Currency exchange shops in Baghdad quoted rates ranging between 1,545 and 1,535 dinars per dollar.

In Erbil, the dollar rate declined slightly, fluctuating between 1,541 and 1,540.5 Iraqi dinars. The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) announced in February 2023 that it had adopted a new official exchange rate of 1,300 dinars per US dollar. The previous official rate was 1,450 dinars per dollar, while the parallel market rate stood at 1,550 dinars.
