Javier Milei, Was Arrested
Cerimedo was intercepted as he prepared to board a flight to Buenos Aires and was taken to offices of the Special Force Against Crime (FELCC), according to local newspapers La Razón and El Deber. The victim, Nadia Beller, was shot three times Monday night at a hotel in the Canal Isuto area. Security cameras captured the two alleged gunmen, who arrived dressed as delivery workers, shot Beller, and fled on a motorcycle different from the one they used to arrive, El Deber reported.
Social media images show Beller being moved on a stretcher to an ambulance. She remains hospitalized, and no official medical bulletin has been released. La Razón reported that weeks earlier it had emerged that Cerimedo and Beller were in a relationship and that, after an argument, they had exchanged accusations of violence.
Cerimedo, an Argentine, is listed as a presidential adviser in Bolivia and gained prominence for his social media clashes with activists and supporters of the Movement Toward Socialism (MAS), whose historic leader is former President Evo Morales. He rose to public prominence during Milei's 2023 presidential campaign and owns several companies, including Uprod SRL, Academia Numen, Numen Publicidad y Sondeos, and American Apps SA. He also directed La Derecha Diario, a news site aligned with the government's agenda, and now appears as a partner.
He previously worked for the Buenos Aires city government, Digital House, and Europ Assistance. During the campaign, he was responsible for organizing the poll watchers Milei needed to deploy across the country. He admitted to using AI-powered trolls to "intervene in algorithms" and make certain topics relevant.
In an interview with LA NACION, he mentioned his role organizing the Peronist Youth of La Matanza and his work for Mauricio Macri during his 2019 re-election bid. In recent years, his close ties to Brazilian Eduardo Bolsonaro became his main asset. Cerimedo claims he met the son of Brazil's former president during a political communication postgraduate program at Harvard University in 2010, though no records show either attended.
Cerimedo also alleged manipulation of electronic voting machines in the 2021 elections that returned Luiz Inácio "Lula" da Silva to power. He is also listed as a presidential adviser in Bolivia.
