Bavaria's Justice Minister Eisenreich to Resign

Bavaria's Justice Minister Georg Eisenreich has announced he will step down at the end of September after eight years in office. The 54-year-old Christian Social Union politician cited personal reasons for his decision, which he communicated to state premier Markus Söder on Monday. Eisenreich, who has held the justice portfolio since 2018, said he would remain in the state parliament and continue his political work there. His successor is expected to be named in the coming weeks.
