Manchester City Have Accepted a £65.4 Million Bid From Barcelona for Spain Midfielder

The 2024 Ballon d'Or winner has agreed a four-year deal with the Spanish champions, Sky Sports said, and will travel to the Nou Camp next week to complete the transfer. Rodri won 12 major honours during his seven seasons at City, including four Premier League titles, two FA Cups, three League Cups and the Champions League, making 298 appearances at the Etihad Stadium. The 30-year-old joined City from Atletico Madrid for a then-club record £62.8 million (about $80m) in 2019 and had one year left on his contract.

City had wanted him to sign an extension. Rodri missed City's 3-0 loss to Arsenal in the Community Shield on Sunday after returning to training on Friday following minor back surgery. He is Spain's World Cup-winning captain.
