Enes Abakay Had Come to the Dutluca Area in the Orhangazi District of Bursa Province With His Family for a Picnic Around Noon in Türkiye

A 26-year-old man drowned in Lake Iznik in northwestern Turkey on Sunday after entering the water to cool off. Enes Abakay had come to the Dutluca area in the Orhangazi district of Bursa province with his family for a picnic around noon. He entered Lake Iznik to cool down and disappeared from view.

When his relatives could not reach him, they alerted the 112 emergency call center. Gendarmerie and health teams were dispatched to the area, and police diving teams also joined the search efforts. After about two hours of searching, teams found Abakay's lifeless body about 20 meters from the shore. His body was recovered from the water and taken to the morgue at Orhangazi State Hospital.
