Craig Sheppard to Perform Chopin, Debussy, Fauré, and Beethoven at Ancient Quarry on August 19

On Wednesday, August 19 at 9:00 PM, Craig Sheppard will perform selected works by Chopin, Debussy, Fauré, and Beethoven in the acoustics of the 2,500-year-old quarry. On Thursday evening, August 20, the stage belongs to the Varyon Quartet, founded in 2025 at the Berlin University of the Arts and quickly earning first prizes in international competitions. The ensemble features violinists Sofiko Tchumburidze and Kyota Kakiuchi, violist Arda Aykut, and cellist Syon Najman.

They will perform string works by Mozart and Brahms. The festival holds the "EFFE Label 2026–2027" title from the European Festivals Association (EFA).
