🇹🇷 TürkiyeTrabzonspor Is Close to Completing the Transfer of Darwin Nunez, Reuniting the Uruguayan Striker With His Former Liverpool Teammate Mohamed

The Turkish Super Lig club has reached a broad agreement with Al Hilal for the 27-year-old forward, with only the Saudi Pro League's approval now pending. Trabzonspor, aiming for the Super Lig title, made waves in the transfer market with the signing of Salah. After securing the Egyptian star, the club turned its attention to a new striker, with Nunez as the top target.
Head coach Fatih Tekke was a strong advocate for the Uruguayan throughout the process. Salah played a key role in Nunez's decision. The pair spent three and a half seasons together at Liverpool, developing a close friendship off the pitch as well as a strong on-field partnership.
Following Salah's positive recommendation, Nunez agreed to join Trabzonspor. Negotiations with Al Hilal have largely concluded, though details regarding the player's salary and tax matters caused some delay. The transfer is now at the signing stage, awaiting approval from the Saudi Pro League management, which holds decisive authority over player movements in and out of Saudi Arabia.
Trabzonspor is planning to bring Nunez to Turkey as soon as possible. If he arrives, Mitongo will be loaned out, and Nunez would become the club's 14th foreign player.
