Five of India's Top-10 Most Valued Firms Lose ₹1 Lakh Crore in Mcap Last Week; TCS Hit Hardest

Last week, the BSE benchmark Sensex declined 489.92 points, or 0.62%, and the NSE Nifty dipped 204.65 points, or 0.83%. Markets ended the week lower as elevated crude oil prices, renewed geopolitical uncertainty and mixed global cues weighed on investor sentiment, said Ajit Mishra, Senior Vice President – Research, Religare Broking Ltd. The market valuation of TCS eroded by ₹34,263.28 crore to ₹8,53,506.85 crore. Reliance Industries' valuation declined by ₹31,869.13 crore to ₹17,70,056.06 crore.

State Bank of India's valuation dropped by ₹25,891.88 crore to ₹9,85,829.96 crore. The market capitalisation (mcap) of HDFC Bank edged lower by ₹7,165.37 crore to ₹11,20,802.10 crore. ICICI Bank's valuation diminished by ₹2,792.65 crore to ₹10,17,577.98 crore. Larsen & Toubro added ₹2,490.66 crore to its valuation of ₹5,58,973.11 crore.
