Manhattan DA Seizes 12 Celebrity Deepfake Websites

The Manhattan District Attorney's Office has seized 12 websites that used deepfake technology to target around 1,200 victims, in a crackdown on nonconsensual intimate imagery.
The operation, announced on Thursday, marks one of the largest actions of its kind, with authorities taking down platforms that allegedly generated and distributed realistic but fake explicit content featuring celebrities and private individuals. The seized sites reportedly operated across multiple jurisdictions, charging users for access to the fabricated material.
