🇩🇪 GermanySeptember, Some 162,000 Apprenticeship Positions Remain Unfilled in Germany, According to the Head of the Federal Employment Agency

Andrea Nahles, chairwoman of the BA's executive board, highlighted the figure in the "Interview of the Week" on Deutschlandfunk radio. She pointed out that despite efforts to match young people with available training opportunities, a significant number of vacancies persist across the country. The shortfall comes as companies in various sectors struggle to recruit apprentices, a challenge that has been growing in recent years amid demographic shifts and changing career preferences among school leavers.
