Johnnie To's 'Two Gun Cohen' Among 7 Genre Titles at TIFF's Frontières Market in Canada

Hong Kong film luminary Johnnie To's Two Gun Cohen, based on an extraordinary true story, is among seven titles bowing in Frontières at TIFF: The Market, a standalone showcase aimed at co-producers, sales agents and buyers prospecting genre projects in Toronto this September.

Frontières, the international co-production market organized by Montreal's Fantasia Film Festival, announced the lineup for its inaugural edition at TIFF: The Market. The genre showcase will feature a diverse slate of projects, including a 'Dim Sum Western', a newlywed night of terror and a wolf-tracking dark comedy. The full lineup was unveiled exclusively by Variety.

Frontières at TIFF: The Market is designed to connect genre film projects with potential co-producers, sales agents and buyers during the Toronto International Film Festival. Among the seven titles is Two Gun Cohen, directed by Johnnie To and based on the true story of Morris "Two Gun" Cohen, a Jewish bodyguard who became a general in the Chinese army.
