Emily Eavis Has Denied Rumours That Madonna Will Headline the Festival in 2027, Insisting the Queen of Pop Is Not Among the Acts Booked

Asked about the speculation on BBC Radio 4's PM programme, Eavis told Katie Razzall: "No, it's definitely not Madonna, I'll tell you that. She added: "But we have got three headliners and we're very excited about it - it's all coming together really well. When pressed on the possibility of a Taylor Swift performance, Eavis laughed and declined to discuss the line-up further.

The festival is taking a fallow year this summer and will return in June 2027, with tickets expected to go on sale in November. Madonna has never played the UK's biggest festival. Rumours began circulating in June when the 67-year-old hinted to BBC talk show host Graham Norton that she was planning something big in the UK next summer.

According to The Sun, she could instead be heading for a record-breaking three-night stint at London's Hyde Park, although that remains unconfirmed. Addressing the speculation, Eavis said: "Pretty much 95% of the stories [about Glastonbury] you read are not true, and rumours are pretty much always wrong. But the good news is that we've got our headliners and we're cracking on, and we just can't wait to get back.

Eavis appeared on PM to discuss arts funding and her hopes that new Prime Minister Andy Burnham will back music education in schools and support "crumbling" smaller music venues where future Glastonbury headliners start out.
