🇬🇧 United KingdomSingle-use Grills Banned From Sale Over Wildfire Risk in UK Drought

The government has temporarily banned the sale of single-use grills, warning they pose a "significant risk to the public" amid ongoing drought and heatwave conditions. Some retailers had already withdrawn the disposable barbecues from sale. The Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade (DBIST) said the grills have been the cause of "a number of serious wildfires across the country over the summer months".
The move follows discussions at an emergency Cobra meeting earlier this week on the government's response to record temperatures. Prime Minister Andy Burnham described the country as being like "a tinderbox" as fire crews in the West Midlands continued to battle multiple blazes for a second day.
