In the Pole Vault, Matteo Oliveri Cleared the Required 5.60M to Secure a Share of Tenth Place and a Spot in the Final in the UK

Italy secured three more final berths at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, with Pietro Arese, Matteo Oliveri and Paola Padovan all advancing in their respective events. Arese qualified for the 1500m final after finishing fifth in his heat in 3:41.94. The Italian controlled the race throughout, only taking a slight risk in the closing stages, and will now compete for a medal. In the pole vault, Matteo Oliveri cleared the required 5.60m to secure a share of tenth place and a spot in the final.

Armand Duplantis remains the clear favorite ahead of Emmanouil Karalis. Paola Padovan threw 56.90m in the women's javelin to finish among the top twelve and book her place in the final.
