Palestinian families in the village of Qusra, in the northern occupied West Bank, have been besieged for days as settlers block access to their homes with stones and threats. Although the Israeli army dismantled an illegal outpost set up in front of the residences, it did not initially remove the settlers, leaving families alone against the attacks. In a social media message, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, who is usually supportive of settlement activity, called the siege an "act of terror" and described Israeli settlers as terrorists. The statement marks a notable shift in tone from the ambassador.
